News of note for Kent County
January 6, 2021
Kent County Democrats are outraged and deeply saddened at the storming of the US Capital on January 6, 2021. Mob violence is never a justifiable action and today’s storming of the Capital is particularly egregious. Donald Trump, whose narcissism does not allow losing – as he most thoroughly did in the November election – deliberately and with intent whipped up the emotions of his supporters and set them loose on our nation’s capital. The shocking results should not have surprised anyone.
To those in Congress who support Trump in his despicable effort to overturn the will of the American people, we call shame upon you. Shame, too, upon the Republican Party that consistently has supported Donald Trump and stood by as he has sullied the laws and reputation of the United States. We heap special shame on our deplorable representative, Andrew Harris. He has embraced the president’s lies and has consistently lied himself. We call on him to resign.
Thomas “Mike” Miller
With great sadness we learned that Mike Miller, long time Maryland Senate President, passed away on January 25, 2021. He devoted his life to Maryland and its people. He will be missed.
The Kent County Democratic Central Committee meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. All are welcome to attend our meetings. During this pandemic, we meet via Zoom. Contact us for information.
