Candidate for US Congressional District 1 Allison Galbraith has ended her campaign effective April 23, 2020.

Mark Mumford Retires

On April 30, Mark Mumford, a fixture in Kent County Democratic politics, retired as the longest serving elected Clerk of the Circuit County. He retired half way through his 8th term.

Sherise L. Kennard, Mumford’s chief deputy, replaces him. She is the first woman and the first African American to hold the position of Clerk.

We honor and thank Mark for his many years of service to the community, and we welcome Sherise.

Central Committee

The Kent County Democratic Central Committee is looking for two females to join the Central Committee To qualify, you must be a U.S.citizen, a registered Democratic voter in Kent County, MD, and over the age of 18.

The KCDCC meets at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at the Democratic Headquarters, 357 High St, Chestertown. During the stay at home order, we meet online only.
