After his career in the Coast Guard he, his wife Vita and their family moved back to Kent County, where he became active in politics. He helped start the Democratic Club of Kent County. He served on the Kent County Democratic Central Committee. From 2002 through 2018, he served as County Commissioner for Kent County. He was also 1st Vice Chair of the Maryland Association of Counties. He will be remembered for his intelligence, his kindness, and his willingness to listen to and help people.
